Nananap’s Daily Question #8 …… Who is at the top of the mast in your biz?
I have no formal biz training – no degree or post grad qualifications so what I have learnt is through a mix of reading, talking, listening, and experience, but most of it sort of accidental: So at a biz presentation a few years ago Murray Thom gave this great image – Who is the person in your business who climbs to the top of the mast and looks out? (Thanks Murray!)
Some thoughts on this mast lookout:
- Appear to be wasting time and resources …
- Look like they are daydreaming – in nananap zone! …
- Are looking at where we’ve been, and where we are going. and perhaps straight down at what is happening on the deck…
- Are wondering who and what is over the horizon, and why the horizon seems to move with us?
- Should we even be on this ship? – perhaps a plane!?
- The best person is probably a founder?
- The look-out should be on deck some of the time or they will lose touch with the reality?
